Amanda Gaudet, LCSW
I’m a licensed clinical social worker. I work with individuals and couples and I specialize in anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, trauma and relationships. I am trained in a range of cognitive behavioral approaches like exposure and ritual prevention (ERP), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), cognitive processing therapy (CPT) and prolonged exposure (PE). I have over ten years of experience working in community mental health, non-profits and private practice. I am passionate about working with individuals who have experienced trauma and inequity.

I have a collaborative, warm and curious practice style. I lead with humility, knowing we are all humans doing our best. I use candor, humor and non-judgment to create a space that feels safe to examine the more vulnerable parts of yourself and challenge the things that aren’t working. Our work will be guided by what matters to you most, whether that be specific goals you’d like to work on, or personal values you’d like to live by. I use a culturally affirming lens in my practice and I’m interested in learning about your culture, identities and lived experiences and how they shape who you are. I am a trauma-informed provider and will always consider how experiences of harm and disempowerment may show up in your life and in the therapy space.

On a more personal note, I live in New York City with my husband, senior cat and daughter. I have lived experience growing up with childhood adversities that have made me very passionate about mental health recovery and social issues. In my free time I love to read, see theatre and concerts, eat delicious foods, hike and spend time with my family and loved ones.
