Anxiety and Phobias
Anxiety is about trying to control the things you feel deeply about. This can be your safety, how others see you, your health, relationships, children, future and more. While anxiety is a normal human experience, some of us are prone to get stuck in it and unknowingly do things that make it worse. Whether you’re struggling with generalized anxiety, intrusive thoughts, a phobia, social anxiety or panic attacks, I have the tools and experience to help you. I will help you understand how anxiety and related emotions work, and the relationship between your thoughts, feelings and actions. Together we will create individualized exercises for you to practice new skills, gradually face your fears and work to change habits that may not be serving you. I use a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy tools to support you to learn self-compassion, acceptance and mindfulness skills. We will strive to work towards the life you find most fulfilling while learning to co-exist with the discomforts that we cannot control.
